Who Act Play 2003
Following three successful annual fund-raisers, the Youth will host a Valentine’s fund raising dinner on Sunday February 16, 2002, starting at 6:00pm in the Community Building. The dinner and entertainment will cost $15.00 per person, $25 per couple. Please fill out a reservation form and hand it in by Sunday, February 10 (no reservations accepted after that date). Only 80 seats, so make your reservation early. Entertainment is a “Who Act Play”. As this is fund-raiser, nine lucky actors, selected by vote, will be asked to “play” with the youth. Voting will be made by donations made to the Youth.
The nomination rules are:
1) Any person can be nominated.
2) Voting in favor occurs by making a “nominating donation” to the Youth.
3) Anyone can make “declination contributions” to have votes removed.
4) Any “declination votes” subtract from the “nominating votes”.
5)
Early contributions count more. Five weeks ahead, each dollar donated
(nominating or declination) is worth five votes. Four weeks ahead, four votes. Up to the week before the cut-off
when a dollar is worth two votes.
During the last week and on the day of the play, it’s one vote per
dollar.
6) Contributions can be made starting on Sunday, January 12.
7) The eighteen people with the most “nominating votes”, minus “declinations votes” through Saturday, February 8, will be in a final run-off election.. Names of the 18 people will be made public in Church on Sunday, February 9. Any contributions after the 8th should be for one of those people.
8) Donations (both nominating and declining) for selection of the final nine people will be accepted up until the end of the dinner on February 16, just before the game starts.
9) The roles will be assigned based on the ranking of votes. There are 4 men and 5 women needed, but wigs, dresses, pants, hats, and other props. will be provided to allow anyone to fill any role.
10) Brenda Young, Ray deFriess and Bill Waddell will collect donations.
11) Computations by these folks will be final.
12) Up-to-the-minute donation status will be available from Bill Waddell. Home phone: 919-942-3344. Daily status reports will be posted on the church web site.
Gail Smith will be the narrator unless she’s one of the “actors” (a definite possibility). A guest narrator will fill in as needed. Plan on coming to the dinner and enjoying the entertainment.
This year, all money raised will go to pay for members of the youth to go to camp, ASP, or other mission trips.
